Vogue Arabia “Building Bridges”, bringing regional photographic talent into a landmark cover

Vogue Arabia’s February 2021 “Building Bridges” issue marked a historic moment for the Gulf following the AlUla GCC Summit Declaration.

The cover brought together six prominent women representing the six GCC countries, photographed individually by creative talent from across the region.

Slava’s contribution focused on photographer representation and recommendation. We advocated for the involvement of Bahraini photographer Ali Sharaf and Kuwaiti photographer Djinane Al Suwayeh, helping bring their work to the attention of the publication for this significant editorial project.

Both photographers were selected to contribute to the cover, joining Imad Hasan, Rafeed, Taha and Sandra Chidiac in creating a collective portrait of regional dialogue and unity.

The outcome

Ali Sharaf and Djinane Al Suwayeh were selected among the six regional photographers contributing to Vogue Arabia’s landmark “Building Bridges” cover.

Their participation placed Bahraini and Kuwaiti creative perspectives within an editorial moment dedicated to dialogue, representation and a shared future across the GCC.
